Instructions for Filling Out Tax Information

Tax information must be provided using your own details. To ensure the accuracy of personal tax information, users must disclose their own tax information; financial institutions cannot fill this out on your behalf. Please refer to the following instructions:

Hong Kong

Tax identification number is your Hong Kong Identity Card number.

Other Regions:

Provide your local tax identification number (if applicable).

 

Documents required for account opening

For individual or joint account

  1. Valid Hong Kong Identity Card or passport (For holders of National Identity Card or passport, Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates must be provided)

  2. Proof of residential address within 3 months after issue (such as water, utility or telephone bills, bank statements, etc.)

  3. Valid bank account information (name of bank and bank account number)

 

For corporate account (company incorporated in Hong Kong)

  1. Copy of Certificate of Incorporation (Certified true copy)*

  2. Copy of current Business Registration Certificate (Certified true copy)*

  3. Memorandum & Articles of Association (Certified true copy)*

  4. Copy of Company Search Report (e.g. latest Annual Return) (Certified true copy)*

  5. Board minutes approving opening of account and authorised persons (Certified true copy)*

  6. Copy of identification for all director(s), substantial shareholder(s), authorised representative and the ultimate beneficiary (For corporation, please provide a copy of Certificate of Incorporation) (Certified true copy)*

  7. Latest audited financial statements (If not available, management account certified by a director must be provided)

  8. Director's personal guarantee (For margin account)

 

For corporate account (company incorporated Overseas)

  1. Copy of Certificate of Incorporation (a copy of Certificate of Good Standing issued by the Registrar must be provided if the Company was incorporated more than 12 months) (Certified true copy)*

  2. Memorandum & Articles of Association (Certified true copy)*

  3. Copy of Certificate of Incumbency issued by the company’s registered agent in the place of incorporation within the recent 6 months (the name of the registered agent should match with Memorandum & Articles of Association, otherwise the letter of appointment of the new registered agent issued by the board of directors must be provided) (Certified true copy)*

  4. Board minutes approving opening of account and authorised persons (Certified true copy)*

What types of orders are supported?

Currently, three types of orders are supported: Market Orders Limit Orders Enhanced Limit Orders

What are the basic rules for trading Hong Kong stocks?

Trading Mechanism:

The trading mechanism for Hong Kong stocks is T+0, meaning that stocks purchased on the same day can be sold on that day.

Settlement Mechanism:

The settlement mechanism for Hong Kong stocks is T+2, meaning that stocks traded on the same day (T-day) will settle on the second trading day thereafter (T+2). If the transaction falls on a weekend or holiday, the timeline will be adjusted accordingly.

For example: If T-day is Monday, settlement will be completed on Wednesday; if T-day is Thursday, settlement will be completed the following Monday.
